What it is

Blues Hog Original and Tennessee Red are the most legendary BBQ sauces on the competition circuit and in American BBQ restaurants. Labels sometimes come off the bottles when the cameras are rolling, but everyone knows what is inside: Blues Hog.

This sauce has won best-sauce awards more times than anyone can count. It is sweet with a subtle spicy finish: a ketchup-based, sweet and thick sauce that clings to meat exceptionally well and gives it a beautiful, diamond-like shine.

Blues Hog Original and Tennessee Red belong in every pitmaster’s pantry. Mix them, warm them up if you like, and put them on just about anything — it works every time. The small squeeze bottles are also great for reusing with your own blends and for applying exact amounts to meat or into a wrap. Original on its own is quite sweet and thick, so we definitely add some Tennessee Red. There is not much more to say: Blues Hog sauces are the best that BBQ has to offer, end of story.

Mix Original and Tennessee Red. Tennessee Red is vinegar-based, spicier and thinner, and balances the sweetness and thickness of Original perfectly. Start at 50:50 and fine-tune the ratio to taste.
