Barbecoa Sweet Asian BBQ Sauce

What it is

Barbecoa is a well-known BBQ team from Belgium and multiple national champions in their home country. The team is always competing for the title of best BBQ team in Europe. Team leader Tom Bertels also makes sauces and rubs. The Barbecoa Sweet Asian BBQ sauce is a blend of honey and teriyaki. A perfect combination of umami and a gentle sweetness from honey.

This one works for everyone. We had been looking for an Asian-style sauce for a long time, but everything we had tried up to that point fell firmly into the category of total rubbish. This sauce earns its place in the range, because it really is the right balance between teriyaki, sweet honey and spices. Well done, Tom.

Pro tip: Warm this sauce through before serving — the spices come through much better that way.
