Do you know Malcolm Reed? He is arguably the most famous BBQ man on YouTube and one half of the Killer Hogs BBQ team. Killer Hogs have been making rubs for a very long time, and to this day they remain a staple in many competition teams’ kits. Their rubs are widely regarded as excellent base blends, and the AP is the foundation of them all. AP — All Purpose — is exactly what the name says: good for just about everything, though you would not reach for it on dessert, as it leans decidedly savoury.
