What it is

Angus & Oink Texas Steak is a Texas-style BBQ rub with a bold, salty and peppery flavour profile for steaks and other beef dishes. Angus & Oink creates rubs inspired by grilling and street food cultures from around the world, for home cooks and professionals alike. The Texas Steak rub is modelled on the big, juicy and heavily seasoned steaks of Texas, leaving a noticeable spiced texture on the meat. Angus & Oink Texas Steak is suited to seasoning ribeye, entrecôte, sirloin, tomahawk steak, beef burgers and other beef cuts cooked hot and fast. The rub can be used in the final stage of grilling, as a finishing seasoning on a cooked steak, or sprinkled onto the cutting board before slicing the meat. Texas Steak is primarily intended for high-heat grilling, but it can also be used as a final layer of flavour and texture on smoked beef.

GRILLY comments

We wouldn’t apply this rub in a thick layer on a steak before it goes onto a screaming-hot grate, as the intense heat can scorch the spices. Better to grill the meat first and add the Texas Steak at the end, or directly onto the cutting board. It works particularly well with ribeye and other fattier cuts of beef that can stand up to a strong peppery hit.
