What it is

The Ultimate BBQ Sauce with Pomegranate is a BBQ sauce with a fruity pomegranate note, classic BBQ flavour and a gentle kick of heat. The Ultimate range sauces are produced to order for BBQ Entertainment, following recipes created by pitmaster Enn Tobreluts. The producer describes the range as lightly spiced sauces with a beautiful sheen, well suited to finishing meat. Pomegranate gives the sauce a slightly more berry-forward and fresher flavour than a standard BBQ sauce. The Ultimate BBQ Sauce with Pomegranate works on pork ribs, pulled pork, chicken, beef, burgers and grilled vegetables. Use it as a glaze towards the end of cooking, serve it alongside finished meat, or add a smaller amount to a marinade.

We would reach for this pomegranate BBQ sauce first on pork ribs, in a pulled pork burger, or on grilled chicken. The fruity note gives a pleasant contrast to fattier pork and makes the classic BBQ flavour feel a little fresher. Because the sauce contains sugar, we would add it to the meat only in the final stage of cooking.
