What it is

SunCity Poultry Grill Rub is a well-balanced poultry BBQ rub for grilling and oven-roasting chicken and turkey. SunCity BBQ is a Hungarian BBQ brand whose own rubs have won four Grand Champion titles at KCBS competitions. SunCity Poultry Grill Rub works on chicken wings, chicken thighs, chicken breast, whole chicken and turkey. The rub suits both the juicier dark meat and the leaner breast meat, and helps give poultry an even, consistent grill flavour. SunCity Poultry Grill Rub can be used as a dry rub or mixed with oil, mustard or honey to make a marinade. The manufacturer recommends applying the rub one to two hours before cooking.

We would reach for this on thighs and wings — you can apply it generously and the meat stays juicy even over higher heat. On chicken breast we would go with a thinner coat, or mix the rub with a little oil to make a marinade. One to two hours is plenty for the flavour to develop; a whole chicken can sit seasoned for longer if you like.
