The BBQ Ranch is the work of Jolanda and Vera from the Netherlands, who came to compete in Estonia a couple of years back. Their journey took a serious turn in 2025, when things started going rather well on the competition circuit — well enough to bring the European championship title home, along with a new European points record. To cap off a remarkable season, they finished second in the KCBS world rib rankings. That prompted the two of them to share their flavours with the rest of the world, making their sauces and rub available to everyone. They also share recipes fairly generously, showing you how to put it all to use. Winners Rub is the rub behind those celebrated ribs. It sits neither firmly in the sweet camp nor the salty one — it lands right in between, nicely balanced.
GRILLY comments: This is a genuinely well-executed rub. We know how much work went into it and how they refused to rush it to market until everything was right. It was worth the wait. On ribs, this stuff is something else.
Pro tip: Don’t be shy about using it on larger cuts of pork, and also on chicken — it works beautifully there too.
