What it is
Angus & Oink Teriyaki is a Japanese-inspired sweet-salty BBQ seasoning for chicken, beef, fish, seafood and vegetables. Angus & Oink draws on street food and grill culture from around the world to create rubs that deliver bold flavour whether you’re cooking on the grill or in the kitchen. The teriyaki flavour profile is sweet, salty, gingery and garlicky, with a gentle chilli warmth. Angus & Oink Teriyaki works particularly well on chicken wings, chicken thighs, prawns, salmon, beef skewers and grilled vegetables. The seasoning can be used as a dry rub or mixed with honey and soy sauce to make a sticky teriyaki glaze. It also works well for seasoning stir-fries, rice, noodles and tofu. According to the manufacturer, the rub is gluten-free.
GRILLY comments
Our first move with this would be chicken thighs or prawn skewers. As a dry rub, Teriyaki delivers solid flavour on its own, but mix it with honey and soy sauce and it becomes a particularly good sticky glaze. Because of the sweetness, watch your heat towards the end — a lovely caramelised crust can turn black faster than you’d expect.
